R. Kohlhauer GmbH is nominated as one of the leading innovative firms of environment technology in Baden-Württemberg

The R. Kohlhauer GmbH has successfully taken part on the presentation of prizes , the "environment technology prize" in the category “energy efficiency” with its produkt group KOHLHAUER VOLTA®. The company was nominated and missed the prize for lack for a few places.

It is the very first time for the Environment Ministry of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) to award the environmental technology prize. The prize will be presented in future every two years for outstanding and innovative products in environmental technology. The prize money is 100.000 Euros, which is distributed among four categories and a special jury prize. The categories are “energy efficiency”, “material efficiency”, “technologies for emissions reduction, treatment and separation” and “measurement and control technology”. All companies based in, or with a branch in Baden-Württemberg (Germany) are qualified to participate. The prizes will be awarded to products that make a significant contribution to efficient utilization of resources and environmental protection, and will be brought onto the market soon, or have been on the market for no longer than two years. The Prizes were presented by the environmental minister Mrs. Tanja Gönner at Römerkastell in Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt (Germany).

“As a medium-sized enterprise, we are very pleased about the nomination and seeing that we are with our ideas and visions in the right way.” The founder and also the manager of the R. Kohlhauer GmbH, Mr. Reinhard Kohlhauer said this.

Mrs. Tanja Gönner and the chairman of the jury, Mr. Prof. Dr. Dieter Spath (chief of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO), together with the other jurors, Mr. Thomas Popp (manager of Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG), Mr. Ingolf Baur (presenter of SWR), Mr. Dr. Peter Fritz (member of managing board of Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH (FZK)), and MR. Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth (chief of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB), have presented the prizes. “In some cases the decisions among the competing products were very close,” Mrs. Tanja Gönner explained, “The level of the entries was high right across the board.” With high probability, the environmental technology would be a top industrial sector and draw level in importance with automotive engineering and machine building up to 2020. As a cross-sectional technology it could become the engine of the economy growth.

The company R. Kohlhauer GmbH based in Gaggenau (Germany) was founded in 1993 under the subject “noise protection and more”. Now the company has made a name for itself in Europe and collected a world-wide reputation, especially in Asia. Numerous locations and investments of the company make sure of the new markets in a long term. The company has at present more than 15 employees. The company management has set a sales goal of more than 10 million for 2010.
